Sony HDR-CX455 Full HD Handycam Camcorder with 8GB Internal Memory

The Exmor R CMOS image sensor combines with the Bionz X processor to support 1080p video up to 60 fps and 9.2MP still photos.

The HDR-CX455 comes equipped with a Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar zoom lens that features a wide 35mm-equivalent focal length of 26.8mm (in movie mode) to fit more into your shots and a 30x optical zoom range. To get you closer to the action, the zoom range can be extended to 60x using Clear Image Zoom.

Optical SteadyShot image stabilization steadies footage being recorded when shooting conditions or the user’s hands are shaky. 5-axis Intelligent Active mode compensates for vibration in five different directions so you can shoot stable high-quality movies even while jogging lightly.

Fast Intelligent AF achieves quick and accurate contrast-detection autofocus by minimizing lens motion, predicting the AF range, and accelerating the lens drive.

The HDR-CX455 records 4K and HD movies in the XAVC S format, which uses MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 for video compression and linear PCM for audio compression, while saving files in an MP4 wrapper which allows for extensive record times and easy editing. Additionally, you can choose to record HD in AVCHD (ideal for HDTV and Blu-ray disc burning) or MP4 (ideal for sharing over the internet).

This feature automatically determines the type of scene being shot and optimizes a combination of settings from three groups (Face, Scene, Camera shake). It provides optimal results for up to 180 scene types, even at night and in backlit scenes. Selected settings are displayed as icons on the LCD screen for easy reference.

Add up to seven creative effects (Partial Color, Retro Photo, Soft High-key, High Contrast Mono, Toy Camera, Pop Color, Posterization) without troublesome editing on a computer.

Motion Shot Video plays a sequence of superimposed images that trace recorded action in split-second intervals for you to analyze in detail. During playback, you can adjust the interval, or pause to capture and share a still image.
